Brief History

Formed in 2005 from the students of a carving course at Chippenham College, the members wanted a workshop/studio of their own for wood carving and other related skills. They teamed up with Michael Huntley (their then wood carving tutor) to form the club and to share the premises where he could also run furniture restoration courses but also give technical advice to the wood carvers. After a huge effort the workshop/ studio is now operational with individual workstations set up in the original horse stalls. The club caters for a range of abilities and is keen to attract new members.

Club Activities

The club currently runs carving sessions on Monday and Tuesday evenings between 7.00p.m..and 9.00p.m.. We hope to also have other carving sessions in the near future.

Our thanks to The publicans at the The Lansdowne Arms, Wadworth and Bowood Estate for their generous help in making this happen.

Mike and Sue Huntley are also running general woodworking courses on Saturdays visit their website Huntley School of Woodworking
