Corsham Area Community Partnership

The Corsham Area Community Partnership (CACP) is primarily funded by a grant of £25k from the Market & Coastal Towns Initiative (MCTi) It is the responsibility of the Steering Group to spend its funding wisely and to live within it. We are assisted by Support Officers from North Wiltshire District Council and Wiltshire County Council.

In 2004 the CACP held Community Days in Corsham, Box, Colerne, Rudloe, Neston and Lacock. Over 600 comments were made about local issues and we used the results to design our Questionnaire. 5,643 questionnaires were posted to a large sample of households. We received 1,611 returns by the closing date. The results identified 22 key priority issues which meant we were able to produce our Community Plan document. This plan represents the views and aspirations of residents.

The Community Plan document was launched in June 2005. We also produced a summary leaflet giving a synopsis of the Plan. At the end of 2005 a copy of the summary leaflet was delivered by Royal Mail to every household and business in the Corsham Community Area, totalling over 11,500.

We want to keep the Community Plan alive and we aim to be the driving force within the area for making things happen. To do this, we hope to build a network of local groups and individuals. Community Planning has the advantage of bringing together a wide range of skills, interests and resources.

Although we are not a funding body ourselves, we can attract funding from external bodies. Please see our page titled "Funding" for advice on where your project can go for help with funding.
