LOST DOGS.

For full details on reporting or enquiring about lost dogs please go to Parish Information page 2. Lost "Doggy" matters are no longer dealt with by the Police. North Wiltshire District Council have assumed the responsibility for stray dogs.

Dog Walkers are reminded of the need to clear up after their pets. Fouling of pavements and other areas is a fineable offence. Please be considerate to others and don't let your pets leave their calling cards behind. CLEAN UP BEHIND THEM. Thank you.

RED K6 PUBLIC TELEPHONE BOXES IN THE PARISH.

BT are proposing to remove all three Public Telephone Boxes from within the Parish. The reason being that they are insufficiently used and are therefore not cost effective which is because most people now have a mobile phone or at least access to a landline in their home. The Parish Council wishes to retain the box in Lea, albeit without the service connected in order to preserve the rural amenity of the locality. BT have informed us that it is possible to either "Adopt a Box" or "Sponsor a Box". Under the "Adopt a Box" scheme the telephone service would be removed, the ownership of the structure would pass to the Parish Council who would then be responsible for the maintainance and insurance together with any costs of the electricty used by the light. Under the "Sponsor a Box" Scheme the full service would retained however the Parish Council would have to make an annual payment of £500 per retained box to BT. The Parish Council have decided that they wish to retain all three red boxes in the Parish, subject to condition and have therefore decided to go with the "Adopt a Box" scheme.

Further information will be posted on this web page as details become available.
