MALMESBURY & THE VILLAGES COMMUNITY AREA PARTNERSHIP(M&VCAP)

The partnership is formed from the Parishes and any organisation or voluntary group within NWDC Area 1, together with any other interested groups. It meets currently about every six to eight weeks, usually in Malmesbury Library.

At the present time the Partnership is primarily concerned with the setting up of the Malmesbury Transport Hub. It is now however turning its attention to deal with other matters contained in the Community Plan.

The Community Plan 2005 - 2015 carries a great deal of information on the activities, hopes and needs for the various Parishes within the Community Area. It contains sections covering Transport, Highways, The Ecomony, Education and Lifelong Learning, Crime and Community Protection, The Environment, Land Based and Countryside Issues, Social Care and Health together with Housing and the Built Environment.

A few copies of the Plan are still available from the Parish Clerk. 01666 823730.

PLOUGHING & RIGHTS OF WAY IN WILTSHIRE

Farmers - Avoid Legal Action.

Do not plough public footpaths on your land. Can't avoid it? Then reinstate immediately when ploughing is completed. Compact the surface by running your tractor wheels over the route to maintain a level and firm surface. If a crop is emerging - use a flail or mower. You must ensure the route is apparent on the ground. In addition peg out the line.

REMEMBER a minimum width must be retained. Cross-Field Footpath 1.0 metre; Field-Edge Footpath 1.5 metres; Cross-Field Bridleway 2.0 metres; Field- Edge Bridleway 3.0 metres. Other unsurfaced Highway 3.0 metres

A CLEAR PATH MEANS USERS WILL NOT STRAY FROM ROUTES CROSSING YOUR LAND

Non-reinstatement of paths could affect your single payment
