WASTE RECYCLING

Wiltshire Council is seeking to encourage residents to put out their black boxes for kerbside recycling and wheelie bins for garden waste everytime there is a collection. Residents should not hold back the containers because there is only a small quantity for collection. Collecting regularly enables the recycling company provide a better service. At the moment there are peaks and troughs occurring in the amount of material collected. Green waste should be put out on the specified collection day. Holding it back could mean that the waste is more difficult to handle, smelly and is more difficult to compost. Also tough government regulations means that the compost must meet quality standards.

WASTE RECYCLING REVIEW

The review of County wide recycling procedures by the Wiltshire Council has been postponed until after the General Election. This is due to the fact that there are differing views on recycling coming from each of the various political parties. However once the election is completed the Council will take on board the policy of the Government of the day and will then arrange to consult with the population of Wiltshire.
