Macmillan Cancer Support

A picture for Macmillan-Cancer-Support

Macmillan Cancer Support is committed to providing the best possible care and support for those and their families affected by cancer. With more people being diagnosed with cancer every year, the need for Macmillan Cancer Support’s services is increasing. Macmillan Cancer Support is working in partnership with the NHS in Wiltshire to improve cancer treatment and care given to people with cancer and their families. Thanks to the amazing generosity of local people, the Swindon and Marlborough Macmillan Appeal has raised approximately £1,500,000 to fund the following posts in North Wiltshire: • Seven Macmillan nurses based at the new Great Western Hospital • A Macmillan palliative care consultant • A Macmillan Clinical Psychologist • A Welfare Benefits Advisor and a Social Worker. In 2007 Macmillan gave over £51,000 to people in Wiltshire in financial need • The appeal is also funding the ongoing training of Macmillan medical staff to ensure that they are up to date with the latest developments in cancer treatment and care.

If you need further information and help about cancer, please telephone our Cancerline on 0808 808 2020 which is open Monday-Friday from 9am-10pm.

If you would like to get involved with fundraising or make a donation, please telephone the Wiltshire fundraising office on 01793 432252.
