LEA AND CLEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS

All the dates for 2009 Parish Council Meetings are to be found on "Parish Information 1".

The date for the next Meeting of the Parish Council is Tuesday JULY 21st 2009 in Lea Village Hall. All are welcome to attend all Parish Council meetings which are open to the public and the Press.

WILTSHIRE COUNCIL (The Unitary Council) has a new web site which is now fully operational, the address is www.wiltshire.gov.uk. The new telephone number for all departments is 0300 456 0100. The nearest main office for this area will continue to be at Monkton Park, Chippenham SN15 1ER where you will be able to get information on any council service and have face to face service.

LOST DOGS.

For full details on reporting or enquiring about lost dogs please go to Parish Information page 2. Lost "Doggy" matters are no longer dealt with by the Police. Wiltshire Council's North Wilts area have assumed the responsibility for stray dogs.

Dog Walkers are reminded of the need to clear up after their pets. Fouling of pavements and other areas is a fineable offence. Please be considerate to others and don't let your pets leave their calling cards behind. CLEAN UP BEHIND THEM. Thank you.

RED K6 PUBLIC TELEPHONE BOXES IN THE PARISH.

BT are proposing to remove all three Public Telephone Boxes from within the Parish. The reason being that they are insufficiently used and are therefore not cost effective which is because most people now have a mobile phone or at least access to a landline in their home. The Parish Council is retaining the boxes in Lea and Garsdon, albeit without the service connected in order to preserve the rural amenity of the locality. These boxes will be converted into Information Centres.

Further information will be posted on this web page as details become available.
